Interview with Hana Antunovic

Can you tell us about your match at European Championships 2017?

My first fight was against Turkey, which I lost on "hantei". We have fought each other many times before, so it was a tight match. I am sad I didn't win, but I got second chance as Turkey managed to reach the finals.

How difficult was the way to the Bronze medal?

In the repechage I first fought against Slovenia and won 3-1, and then I fought against Bosnia and won 1-0. I had a great feeling on the tatami during both matches. Then I was up against Ukraine in the bronze final. I was nervous, but tried to keep calm and think clearly. I knew I had to be 100% ready, because non of us would take any chances. My tactics was to be calm, but alert, and wait for her to make a mistake. I felt her coming closer and closer, and then I attacked. I won 2-0, and it was a great feeling!

What is your overall feeling from the European Championship?

Overall, I had a good feeling during the championships, which I managed to keep until the last fight. Standing on the podium at European Championships it is fantastic. Finally, all my hard work has paied off!

Thank you very much for the interview. We wish you all the best in the future. Karate Live
