16/05 2016

May 13-14, 2016 Tbilisi, Georgia
European Shinkyokushin Karate Championship

Dr. Szepesi Csenge from Hungary achieved the Gold medal in discipline Kumite at European Shinkyokushin Karate Championship, this Sunday, May 15, 2016 in Tbilisi, Georgia. Karate Live brings you short exclusive interview with Champion Dr. Szepesi Csenge.

How was your way to the Gold medal?

My first fight was against romanian fighter Anca Dan. Second round against a young spanish fighter, and the semi-final against swedish Sara Hägge. In finished all of my fights in 3 minutes by the judges descision, which was clearly on my site. I felt a better power and stamina, so i could easily win. In the final i met Nora Vaznelyte from Lithuania, like in 2015. Our fight was very strong and lasted for 5 minutes, that means one extension. In won the final by judges descision.

What is your overall feeling from the European Championship?

This time the EC had left lots of positive feelings behind. I could win it without any stress, and is felt very strong . My World Champion title last year gave me a lot of power! The championship in Tbilisi was a high technical and power level of Shinkyokushin European Championship, where we could see the new generation of fighters coming up to the podium, and also the endless motivation of the fighters with big routine!

Thank you very much for the interview. We wish you all the best in the future. Karate Live
